Basketball registration  is now open.  Deadline to register is October 11th, 2024.  

     

    PLEASE READ ALL THE INFORMATION BELOW CAREFULLY.

    CYO Basketball is open to boys and girls in grades 3-8. 

    Practices or assessments will begin the week of October 21st and will be twice weekly for 1 hour in our gym.  Practice schedules will not be available until after registration closes.  Coaches will contact their teams the week of Oct 14th.      The season begins December 7th and will end late February early March depending on the grade.  Schedules are set by the Diocese of Cleveland CYO and will be available on the CYO website November 27th.  Games are generally on the weekends .

    All participants must be parishioners of St. Francis Xavier Parish and/or enrolled in St. Francis Xavier School.

    Public school or homeschool students must be enrolled in and actively attending a Parish School of Religion program for a complete year. 
    Check under “Athlete Registration Requirements” on this website for more eligibility requirements if you are not a registered St Francis Xavier Parishioner.

    Sports participants are required to fill out an official CYO Pre Participation form signed by a physician which must be good for 13 months and include the entire season. This form must be on file with the St Francis Xavier Registrar BEFORE an athlete can practice or participate in this sport.  Forms can be found by clicking on the link at the bottom of this page.

    All first year sports participants must provide a copy of their birth certificate which will permanently remain on file. Scan and email to sfxathleticforms@gmail.com.

    Cost to participate is $130 per athlete in grades 3-8.

    If a roster does not meet the cyo minimum of 8 players teams may be combined.  

    Grades per gender with more than 1 team will have an assessment to determine the rosters the week of October 21st.  Multiple teams in the 6th- 8th grade divisions are split into rosters determined by strength. Parents will be notified of the assessment schedule after registration closes.

    IF YOU ARE TRYING OUT FOR ANOTHER TEAM YOU MUST REGISTER BEFORE THE DEADLINE TO ASSURE A SPOT ON A CYO TEAM.    ALL OTHERS WILL BE PLACED ON A WAITLIST.  WE WILL NOT GUARANTEE YOU A SPOT ON A CYO TEAM UNLESS YOU REGISTER BY THE DEADLINE.  EMAIL KTUCHEK@SFXMEDINA.ORG FOR FURTHER INFORMATION.
